Here is a snippet of conversation about a rare business owner that transferred their domain to another ‘website design’ company, and the proof to their collapse of their visitor numbers and indexed pages in Google.
[Website Designers] To transfer the domain away from our system, we will update your IPS TAG for your new provider. Once we have this, the process can be started. We charge a release administration fee to manage and release domain names moving away from us. This must be paid before along with the outstanding support charges before a transfer is actioned. Please confirm you wish to go ahead and make the payment (invoice attached) then we will proceed to transfer your domain and close account with us.
Assume you are moving away from us to another website designer, obviously surprised and happy to help you move but personally confused as to why, especially as we have looked after you for so long and have built and promoted lots of other companies in your sector and have built them up massively over the last few years.Would love to discuss this with you but equally happy to help you move to another website designer / company if that is what you want.
Having someone leave us is a very rare thing and we have only had 2 other clients (out of 450) move away from us in the past, both have ended up seeing their website visitors halve and their business suffer, I really hope the new company help you build and promote your website as I know it’s a hard thing to do, ironically I was going to email you about your website design again this week as you have not responded to the last email I sent. I have just been informed of the company you are moving to and am afraid to say I think you are making a big mistake, they are a cheap and ‘nasty’ outfit that do not have you best interests at heart and speaking from previous experience I believe they will overcharge you and your website visitors will reduce slowly over the coming year and before you realise it you will not get any website visitors / customers and will be in financial trouble. I urge you not to take this step to move to a company that has a bad reputation and is run part-time by an amateur who goes out of his way, it seems. to extract the most money from business owners for the least work.
If you insist on moving I will send you the Google Analytics code you will need to give to your new website design company to continue your website stats reports.
