Following on from the last post about SEO Offers, here is the SEO Companies desperate follow up message, to which we requested that we would be interested and aked them to send some info / documentation / plans.
[SEO Company] Hope you’ve been well since we last spoke.  Just wanted to check in on your website again. I’ve had a look at your organic search volume and it’s been flat over the past 6 months, meaning there hasn’t been any noticeable growth which I’m sure you’re aware of. I can easily fix this and take your business to the next level through SEO.  I can send you screenshots of how I’ve doubled organic growth in some of my client’s sites that I’ve been working on this year. Let me know if you’re interested.
Thanks for the quick reply. I’m going to put together a proposal for your website.
Before I start on the proposal I want to learn a bit more about your business model and the goals of your website. Please answer the following questions:
1.  I can see that you offer diving courses. Can you explain to me your business model and what the main objective is of people visiting your site (e.g. do you earn a referral commission on these courses or do you sell them directly from your website?)
2. I can see you offer courses throughout different regions of the world. Do you want to target specific countries for SEO? What country currently brings in the most traffic?
3. What SEO have you done in the past?
4. What is your monthly budget for SEO? The results you gain from SEO are really dependent on budget. I really don’t want to waste your time (and mine) creating a proposal if your budget is <$1500 per month.
Just from having a preliminary glance at your current rankings it looks like you’re ranking at the 17th position (bottom of 2nd page) for the term “padi” in the UK which has a monthly search volume of 6,600. Also you are ranking at the 22nd position (bottom of 3rd page) for the same term in the US with a monthly search volume of 18,100. Reaching the 1st page for this term would bring you a ton of traffic. There are also a bunch of other terms that you are nearly on 1st page for which I will discuss in the proposal.  Look forward to hearing your response to those 4 questions.
Replies to the 4 points:
Don’t directly offer diving courses as we are a information portal / directory of the best Instructor Courses in the world, business model is based on Adsense / Inclusion in the directory.
We have created as much relevant content as we think is useful for visitors.
If the SEO can bring us in higher rankings then we can attract more advertisers and increase our adsense earnings so we could justify a budget of the figure you mentioned.
PADI is the dive organisation and probably too broad a term, the IDC and ‘Instructor Dive Courses’ are more appropriate search terms for us
[SEO Company] Thanks for giving me that information – it’s given me a clearer picture of your business. I can definitely see you’ve invested time into writing top quality content and providing your visitors with a ton of value – Google loves this (as the saying goes “content is king”). Your existing articles on the site will provide us with an opportunistic platform to launch an SEO campaign. Once we start link building to your existing pages your rankings will increase and you’ll be able to capture a wider net of organic search traffic. I also see an opportunity for some in-depth keyword research for your future articles – this means I’ll research log-tail keywords for you to use that you’ll be able to rank easily for (i.e. keywords that have low competition and relatively high search volume).
Give me 48 hours and I’ll put together a full proposal for your consideration. To help me with the proposal, can you please tell me who your top 3 competitors are in this space? If possible, could you also invite me as a guest (with restricted access) into your Google Analytics account so I can getter a better understanding of the existing search traffic to your site? Please send the guest invitation to [random free email address] [Reply] Thanks will look forward to the proposal, Don’t think I have access to the Google account but will enquire about this with the website people once we agree to go ahead
