After 9 months Google has updated its toolbar page rank, the last major update was in April 2010 and since then Google has, it seems, abandoned its quarterly Toolbar Pagerank (TBPR) update. It remains be seen if the updates now happen every January or will revert back to quarterly.
Even though pagerank is not something you should solely focus, its still an important metric and an indication of how ‘important’ Google views the domain and reflects the quality and quantity of ‘followed’ links to the site. After stating that I have also got a couple of new websites that are not on the table below that have pageranks of 1 that have not got any links, that I know of or can find, pointing towards them.
The toolbar page rank is only a ‘snapshot’ of your actual ‘real’ page rank that Google uses internally. Regardless of your page rank, remember that it doesn’t count for anything on its own and you could say that it’s a ‘vanity’ metric as its one we can see and are aware of. Much more important is to see resultant improvements in the website’s search engine placements.
