As a SEO you should never underestimate the power and usefulness of the Google Webmaster Tools portal, recently we had to investigate a site that had a couple of pages de-indexed from Google’s index and through the use of the information on GWT and by using Google Webmaster Help Forum we found that we had a server problem where the Google bot couldn’t reach the website’s DNS server to resolve the host name. We now await the re-crawling on IDC Guide website to get the two pages re-indexed
