As an indication of the lengths we goto to keep you updated, upgrade and informed about your website / blog here is an example reply that was send after the client asked for a unrelated matter, hopefully it shows we go out of our way to regularly review your website and to give you useful recommendations:
Hi We have spent 2 hours on your site today just giving it a health check and have some advice and changes noted below:
1 We update the testimonial you send on your clients comments page but as a better use of our time and to give you a ‘cost effective’ website support session why dont you email all your previous customers and give me all their testimonials in one go? This would be a great addition to your site.
2 Good to see you are now using your business facebook page – keep it going and recommend asking customers to ‘like your page’
3 We have updated your ‘blog’ (the news section) for you today (upgraded plugins and updated to the newest version of wordpress)
4 We recently added a new function to your blog / news section that allows your ‘news’ / blog photos to be clicked on to give you an enlarged view of them.
5 We have updated the blog to allow your photos to be ‘wrapped’ by text – look at your first two posts to see how ‘nice’ the alignment is compared with previous posts that were a bit messy.
Advice on blog posts
1 Would advise giving your blog (news) posts a more meaningful title than the current date that is shown by default anyway.
2 Would advise ensuring each post has a ‘category’ that is relevant to the post
3 Ensure all images in posts are ‘aligned’ (left or right) and have a ‘border’ of 10 to ensure they look good with the text around them – click on the image within your blog post edit and then click on the ‘image’ icon to open up the ‘choices’ for the image
4 Ensure you have an adequate amount of text when you have photos in the post or sometimes the post will look ‘wrong’ as the photo will be bigger than the blog box – I sometimes use ‘returns’ to pad out the boxes to make it look good (done this on your first post)
5 Don’t upload lots of photos per post and make sure they are the same size (just for uniformity)
6 You have uploaded photos at a ‘massive’ size so you need to reduce the size of them before you upload them ( I have done your current ones for you reducing the average size by 80% – try to limit photos to 800px * 600px
7 I would advise re-formatting the posts you have done (after the first two)
Any problems or if you are not sure give me a call / email and will explain anything further
