4, are you open to the idea of having the new .com hosted in the UK? We have a very fast / secure server with a secure hosting company and would suggest this is the best option for you.

Lots of work to do here, spent most the early week with one of my technical admin staff reviewing the site, the Royal Mail Plugin for shipping is the ‘driver’ for postage and as such you can add specific countries within that section of woocommerce. The good news is that we have already made it work correctly and if you want to add more European / trusted countries it will correctly allow and calculate shipping (International shipping changes between Europe and rest of world).

To check the site (and improve it) we reviewed some of existing settings and changed some (tested after to ensure nothing is not working)

You have 4 options that give special delivery with or without Saturday option for 9am or 1pm delivery – Suggest you trim this to 2 options (1pm delivery) with the Saturday option.

To your account so we can review the site / global visibility etc.
If you have the google account signon info you can give those to us and we can add ourselves to your account if this is something you don’t know how to do.

1 Improve appearance / Navigation – Fixed minor display / visual issues, the mobile menu icon altered to make lighter, fixed titles on small resolutions being clipped off the side, reduced the cart table column width at 768 so it actually fits on the screen, adjusted the checkout button so the text fits into it

On random orders the stock reduces itself twice. I think something to do with the IPN and paypal, basically, I get an e mail come through to my personal Hotmail account as that is what is connected to my phone when I am out and about I can see if I have orders that day.I get 2 e mails come through for the same order (same order number) and luckily the customer does not get charged twice, it just messes up my stock levels – fixed
11 stock reduction problem – there was a problem that 6 products when added to basket got reduced (even if stock exists) but that hasn’t been reproduced since I have updated the plugins including woocommerce

Starting with the .com domain thing – if people still typed in my website name would that still exist?
Im not sure which one I would advertise? All my packaging says .co.uk but I really want to go international too. Sorry for the silly questions, if customers bought stock from the 2 domains, it will all come together and minus the stock as normal, right?

Great will give a final / full list of what I propose / we have agreed to do and yes the .com will be the main domain with only one single stock list / orders system and the .co.uk will be retained and redirected to the .com (this is what we call a standard SEO friendly website migration) all .co.uk pages will be redirected to the .com pages and eventually the search engines will list the .com domain and all its pages but all future links / visits to the .co.uk domain will be auto-redirected to the .com domain

Thank you for the easy breakdown, I am happy to go ahead with the work as I really need the site to work efficiently. How do you accept payment, paypal or bank transfer?
Also, is the monthly check ups, updates etc £100 per month – as I can set up a standing order for this if need be.

One more issue that has just come up again on my site I would like you to take a look at is:

Someone just tried to order 6 of this product [link removed]
Feel free to pop on there add it to your basket and just try to checkout, it comes up with a generic error.

This has happened before and I can’t remember how it got fixed. It seems to be only this product right now (I cant test them all) although it was
working fine last week. I double checked the weights and stock (there are 6 in stock). It lets me go through checkout with just 1 in my basket but not 2 or 3
etc up to the 6. I constantly have these little problems that I worry will put off customers, they just seem to occur and I have no idea why.Thank you for all the time you have put in my site so far. Is it ok if I pay you by tomorrow to get cracking and sort out this problem in particular.

Great, bank transfer is better for us, the invoice attached has the details. Agree that if you pay 50% of the website project tasks we can schedule your work and start it as soon as possible.

The balance to that website tasks project can be paid when its completed (probably about 1 months time).The SEO / Ongoing Support Project will be now for 6 months (decided to increase the time for you) and its still the same amount of money quoted, am happy for you to pay monthly if possible (over 6 months to complete payment for this work)

There are loads of work to complete and will investigate the product not allowing the checkout when it has 6 in the cart for you as a priority, we hope that once the ecommerce elements are updated this will fix this bug, if it is a bug (will check there are no limits first). We will attempt to get everything ‘legal’ updated and fixed before we migrate / transfer to the .com domain and move to the new server.

1 do you have details / access to your woocommerce royal mail subscription? You are using out of date prices and they are not connected / updatable without a subscription
2 can we remove the extra postage options (remove the ‘before 9’ special delivery options) to give just two options?

We have taken advantage of the lack of website visitors to your site at this late hour and backed up the site (database and code) using a plugin and started to update some of your plugins already. It would really help if we had cpanel access to the website (hosting) not sure if you can get this.

Ref the royal mail system you are currently using 2015 prices and to use their system and to keep updated you need a subscription, this costs approx. £60+VAT per year, happy to set this up if you want to agree to pay this yearly. I think its essential for you.
Regarding the postage options I consider by removing the two 9am special delivery postage options it will simplify the order process, making it easier to review the options and improves the appearance of the page, the 4 options will often require scrolling to see due to the checkout layout, have attached 2 screen shots of the 4 option / 2 option to show the difference. I don’t think the two 9am options should be included.

There is no mention of the fact you cant have 9am or 11am delivery if you order after a certain time, should that be included?

Sorry – I feel like I’m bombarding you!
Before you go on to do work on moving the site, just to let you know I would like to delete the “Sale page” and all its contents. I feel like it’s just sitting there as it’s dead stock – time to get rid.

Also, let me know your opinion on the “Landing pages”, are they worth having? Do they work well and compatible with phones?

I find the text very long on my phone and a button is half missing. I just want to keep it simple for my customers, but I have been told previously these are good for SEO.

Any recommendations on how to tidy up the site and make clearer and easier to use e.g, less pages. – send my way!

I think from a marketing and SEO perspective the Sale pages / section is valuable, from your website stats it appears that you have had over 230 visitors to your Sale section. This sale section is now indexed in the search engines and feel its worth keeping Landing pages These are ‘essential’ and perfect for SEO / customer, One is your 2nd most popular page and visited 736 times in the last 30 days, these will be reviewed and enhanced as part of the SEO project.

Product descriptions not updating
The products are now updated, its possible you don’t see the updates on your own system / internet connection yet, in future you need to know these things:
1, currently your server ‘caches’ (stores the webpage) so you normally see the page as it was if you have visited it before on the day of the update.
2, when you update these ‘fields’ you need to click the ‘update’ button to the left of the field (like description) and you don’t click the main page update button on the right, see attached image for the only update button you need to press (if you update the description).
A good way to check a page (from another connection / computer) is to use a proxy server, you simply paste the page you want to view into it and it should show you the page your customers will see, remember though that the page could be ‘cached’ from there if you look at it multiple times.
This ‘caching’ will be more controlled when we move to the new server for the .com domain indeed we have installed a cache plugin that seems to update
the page now when you manually click ‘clear cache’ (top of admin pages) look for wpfc at top of admin pages
Images in category listing, yes I really think that is needed and will improve the site

Yes this is the single biggest improvement from a useability / SEO perspective you can make

Duplicate Orders Problem
Great, yes now I can see this, in future its really good to give exact / real examples like that so we can see exactly what is going on, we have removed some code (woocommerce booster) that may have had a stock inventory part that was the cause, please tell me if / when this happens again. I can see this is a problem other people are having so long term it will be fixed by woocommerce if we can fix it ourselves.

Royal Mail Shipping
The good news is we finally managed to get the new plugin / prices to work, the bad news is that only 2 special delivery options seem to be available. We have added 50p to each royal mail option as you requested that for packaging. There is currently no overseas delivery available as the system gives an error when we try to add other countries
After quite a bit of investigation with myself and 2 other web developers scratching their heads over this we have now worked it out, the ‘official’
plugin didn’t offer the Saturday guarantees but a different / upgraded one did and although its configured differently it works (so UK addresses are offered your 4 standard special delivery options)
We have also sorted the non UK deliveries – what one do you want to offer and what is the price adjustment, the US is showing as costing for postage

We have noticed you have a very successful Social Media (facebook / twitter) to website entry profile, this amounts to about 25% of your visitor numbers, I suggest keep doing what you are doing as its really good and great for the website visitor numbers / sales.

Domain transfers .com and.co.uk domain
Both the .co.uk and the .com are registered still with Google but we have ‘pointed’ the hosting to ourselves so the .com domains hosting / email /
security / performance etc is all taken care of by us. The .co.uk domain is setup with GoDaddy for domain and hosting but believe it just ‘redirects’ to the main .com site now and you have no need / no use for the GoDaddy hosting (apart from the email account) The hosting you have paid for is not now needed. I suggest you can cancel any renewal / email them to refund the hosting / we can also transfer the .co.uk to ourselves and set you up the email again It would make sense to transfer in the .com and the .co.uk so you don’t need
to have Godaddy to deal with The .co.uk has the info@ email account with 509MB of emails, we could in theory transfer these (couple of hours work) or you could create an archive folder within Outlook and archive them and then start again with an empty email system.

Cancelled order problem
Hi Here is our update on the problem sent via facebook
Checked the products against stock and all ok. Added all products into a basket then advanced to checkout stage all ok, site looks and works fine. Have no real idea why the warning / error was shown.

We upgraded the site to use the new woocommerce system and tested it after, we also tested (before and after upgrade) the stock system, where you attempt to add more products than you have in the cart and the system doesn’t allow it (as expected and correctly)

Have you heard about GDPR? You should probably read about it and update your privacy policy / terms and conditions (give us the updated text) to comply.

Page links updated to red colour so they are actually visible (theme options broken / can’t change colours there) so used css. This way the links on these new forms and pages won’t be missed have also added the inks to the footer on every page. We have also updated woocommerce this morning on the website, done a check and all looks good / normal
Ref Google Shopping, are you aware that this needs to be done in conjunction with a Google Adwords campaign (PPC campaign) so you pay for inclusion?

Domain Transfer / Email Setup
Good news, believe the domain transfer and email transfer and re-setup (with old emails) has been completed.
As far as I am aware you can cancel your heart internet / godaddy accounts (I set the godaddy hosting to not renew I believe)

You can get me to setup your email on your phone if you wanted
Also currently all email sent to you gets forwarded to the .co.uk so you need to decide what you want to do going forward. I think logically if the .com is
your main domain then the .co.uk email address isnt needed (although it can forward to the .com to ensure you don’t miss any.

Yes looks good, just need to change the pictures which are in the gallery to the type of tips/weft they are.
Also the lace wefts need to be changed to opt for either 150g or 180g. Some of the stock is missing but not sure if that’s because we’re just trialling it all.
You can take off flat wefts for now too if that’s ok as I don’t stock them just yet.

Further Important Notes / messages
The site / ecommerce system is really in a state and challenging my guys, we will be able to do it just taking a lot longer than expected and everything is such in a mess. We upgraded the site to woocommerce 3.6 but this corrupted it and had to roll it back, had to restore another version of woocommerce. What do you think of this page now?

Can we maybe insert a drop down list for the colours just so customers who know what they are looking for can go straight to the drop down list and select what they want – saves time on them clicking on all the colours on the chart.
