Your Competition’s Website

Posted on July 27th, 2011 by james  |  Comments Off

If your main competitor’s website always ranking higher than yours? Do they have more work / business than you? Perhaps we can help. We find that every business can benefit through improvements to their website and the way they are using the Internet. You may have tried before, done everything you can but still your business is not benefiting as it should. Hardly surprising when you look at the rate of change the Internet is experiencing. I know how you feel and can help if you want more visitors, more conversions, a proper ´social marketing strategy´ etc..

For example we can help your business build a strong brand awareness with a customized lead capturing Facebook Local Business / Google Places page, Don´t worry about ´throwing good money after bad´ – all our work is guaranteed. The free consultation process alone will benefit your business. I´ll show you how to beat that annoying competitor that always seems busier than you.

Cost? For many businesses, it adds no additional cost, but merely ‘shifts’ from a lesser performing media to better ones.

We are not some giant corporation wanting only to collect a big paycheck from you. We take pride in my work and work on a more personal level as your success is my success as well.

So give me a ring or email and we will show you the different avenues you are currently missing out on that can give your business the boost it needs today.

Website Transfer Tasks and Charges

Posted on July 26th, 2011 by james  |  Comments Off

Take a look at our very reasonable Website Charges that cover everything from website transfers to ftp access, hosting, website and SEO updates, its important to remember that even simple website transfers can invoke charges if work is required that is out of our control. . When moving to a different server there can be compatibility issues which may require work to resolve them, sometimes these issues can be caused by something as simple as an apache configuration variable.

Sometimes we receive a website for transfer to us that isn’t correct (visually or functionally) a lot of the time this is due to  flash navigation  If this is the case we make a small / modest charge for our time in doing changes to ensure the site looks and works as it did before the trasnfer, these changes are required, to enable to website to look and work correctly.

Keeping a domain online

Posted on July 21st, 2011 by james  |  Comments Off

Sometimes you may need to take a career break or you may not want your site to be not bring in the calls and emails as you are not able to take any more business. Normally the first response it to take down the website and / or stop the hosting, this is nearly always the wrong thing to do, in situations that you cant take any more work we suggest putting a message on the site to indicate this and you can even disable your contact form and remove your phone number as you will not benefit from domain aging and ‘trust’ from the search engines, if you take your site up and down regularly to suit your circumstances.

This recent exchange with a website owner demonstrates this

[Website Owner] Over the last 6 months I have been re-designing all of my website Ideas. I have also been doing market research and general business research for my ecommerce website as this is the main and biggest project and needs the most investment. As I am still working full time, this is taking longer than I would like, however I am getting there. Until I have finished all my design and research work, I would like my websites to be switched off please. I am not using them, nor advertising them at the moment, and therefore I think they should be closed.

The reason I wished to switch the websites off is because I didn’t want to rake up a large hosting bill. I haven’t really used the websites properly yet and I didn’t want to payout loads for something I am not using.

[Delicious Webdesign] In General The last thing you should do to a website, if you have any plans to use it in the future, is turn it off (or put it offline) This is because you have started to build up a bit of trust with Google / Bing and Yahoo and they now know about your site and have now indexed you. You can remove it but the search engines will remove you from their index you and put you ‘trust’ back a bit. As your website aren’t major ones ones and are barely getting any visitors currently I would say its better for you just to leave them online, perhaps putting a message up saying something like ‘Not taking on new projects until further notice’

Hosting is paid if they are on or off, they still need to be on a server, your domains are paid up until the end of September and after that we charge £45 per domain per year for hosting / email / support. Its MUCH more advantageous to keep them hosted and live if you have any intentions of using them in the future than taking them down just to save a relatively small amount of money. Additionally if we stop hosting them and the domain name could be bought by someone else.

Starting a website project – transferring

Posted on July 21st, 2011 by james  |  Comments Off

We often get asked how to transfer the website from the previous website design company, a typical question may be

[Website Client] Do you not need the EPP code / IPS tag key/code to operate/take over my web site? and once you have the okay from me what is the first step? Obviously I will need full access to my website email. Additionally, do i need to inform my existing provider/server?? that I am employing you to alter my web design or just leave it until we are ready to take it over.

We like to transfer immediately and develop directly on your website in a ‘test’ directory so you can see what we are doing but this isnt always necessary, so a typical reply may be

[Delicious Webdesign] Yes we will need to gain access of the domain from your previous provider or web registration company. This could be the final stage of the project, as until you are 100% happy with the design and build, we will not put the project on your domain name. Instead, we will build the project on a test server, so that nothing is launched until it is perfect.

Gaining control over your domain needs to be done lastly, so that you suffer minimal down-time on the website. Otherwise users will land on a “under construction” page, which will do you much more harm that keeping your old site live.

Your email will work until the last moment when we switch the site over to the new site, and then we will provide you with new email login details, so that you can manage your emails once we host your website.

Regarding informing your old website design company in Southend, you can simply leave it for a few weeks – and once the new site is nearing completion we can then make the switch. Otherwise we run the risk of them shutting the site down prematurely.

Once you are happy to proceed, I need to take some information from you, which I have listed below. Then I will book the project into our project management suite, which will generate an automatic email to you

After another client approved his website redesign I normally give this quick overview

I’m really glad that you have decided to work with us. I can guarantee that we are very “hands-on” when it comes to clients, and should you need any advice / explanations / or general help regarding email, your website or the Internet in general then do not hesitate to contact us in the future. We are always approachable – and this is why we get web design project managers liaise with you, rather than technical website or sales people, because otherwise there is always a difference between what you are offered and what you actually receive.

We are very comfortable with your requirement, and your Goal. We are aware that you wish to earn Google traffic, and this is 100% fine with what I have quoted.

I think that you will be impressed with our design, our service, and our aftercare. If you are happy to proceed, please send us:

Your business name / address
Your contact numbers
Your contact email
Your company number (if Limited company)

We will then invoice the project and give you a call to talk you through booking the project in. We take a 50% deposit, and 50% upon completion.

We look forward to working with you. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us.

Happy Website Clients

Posted on July 21st, 2011 by james  |  Comments Off

Lots of websites being built recently, this is due to the quality and cheap cost that we can provide websites to the businesses of Essex, here is what I have been sending out to new clients recently

[Delicious Webdesign] It was good speaking with you earlier, and I am happy to confirm that we are able to offer you a great solution to your problem.

I recommend that we proceed forward based on a new website, as this will give you what you need to begin earning search engine position.
The new site should follow the proposed structure that we outlined in our meeting.

The break-down of services will enable us to target each individual keyword within Google, which will in-turn open your site up to traffic.
The cost for rebuild / graphic design of the website would be as detailed and agreed previously.
We would not build anything until you were 100% satisfied with our proposed designs, and we offer a long-term commitment to all of our clients.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to send them through to me.

[New Website Client] Hi Delicious Webdesign Team, I am very happy to go ahead with your suggestions and attempt to better my website to obtains more visits to it. i am not worried about getting to number one on Google immediately, all I want to achieve at the moment is a level where i can see visits to my site being made. Once i get to this point i can then think about maybe taking it further.

Here is some history for you of how I ended up with you. The company who originally set up my site did me no favours by contacting me to inform me that i should being doing things to my website to obtain more visitors as they said Google’s way of deciding who ranks higher had changed and my site hadn’t been updated recently so i decided to leave them and go elsewhere. I took the advice of a colleague and went to see a leading Essex Website Design company in Southend-on-sea, where the site is hosted at the moment. After a week I still do not know what they intend to do and all the answers I get from them are very technical and confusing so this is the reason why I decided to look up a web design company myself on Google and thats how I found Delicious Webdesign, and I am very glad I did find you.

You have clearly outlined what you will do and what I need to do and this is all I wanted. I have previously mentioned the Internet and computers are not my thing so I will need some guidance along the way. Looking forward to getting my site redesigned.

Quick Website Design Concept

Posted on July 21st, 2011 by james  |  Comments Off

A new record for us, met the client yesterday and agreed on their project and as we had a developer between projects he commence the draft design last night and this morning presented the client with a draft design for their approval and as you can see below the client is happy and wants us top proceed. Within 24 hours we have got a website design project approved and got a draft website design approved.

[Delicious Webdesign] We have finalised the initial concept design for your website. Please direct your browser to the website to view the design.

[Website Client] As discussed i am happy with the home page and am eager to see the rest of the website along with the addition of the extra pages of text as we agreed at the beginning on this project

[Delicious Webdesign] We are pleased to hear you are happy with your concept design. I have now instructed the design team to progress the project to the build stage, where your design will be transformed in to a fully working site, using the content you have provided to us previously.

I will be in contact shortly to provide you with a link to view the completed site ready for your review. Please note that any changes to the conceptual design of the site (design that has already been approved) may now be subject to extra time and charges.

It took us another 24 hours but we have built the site from scratch and launched it within 48 hours

[Delicious Webdesign] We have finalised the build of your web site, and we have uploaded the files to our test server. The contact forms are currently being worked on by our development team, and will be added shortly as soon as they are finished.

You now have an opportunity to review the site and suggest any final amendments to the sections or functions of the site that you have not seen before. Please provide me with a full break down of any changes you require, and I will have the design team carry these out.

Once these changes have been carried out, your web site will be finalised and ready for launch.

Please ensure that you cover all of the changes that you require. If you request further changes after this, and they do not directly relate to the first set of edits, they will be rejected until after the site is live, and may be subject to additional charges.

Website Redesigns

Posted on July 20th, 2011 by james  |  Comments Off

Want to redesign your website to make it more appealing and at the same time making it more search engine friendly? If so we can help, here is some info I recently sent to a client to give them a taste of what we can achieve and what they need to consider

Thanks for the request for a website re-design, one thing I perhaps didnt ask is an example that you have of a competitor’s site that you like or a site that offers everything you do.

We are willing to take your existing site and re-write it on its own domain and that can be done quite quickly and reasonably cheaply but depending on your budget and requirements and due to your existing website size and probably SEO (website promotion) requirements you could consider our Premium Plus Business Brochure website as a choice.

This will also allow a Blog on your own database to be created and to offer you full admin access. The package will also give you full support and a 3 month SEO project after the website is created. The deposit for this package will be £499 and you can pay for it electronically, cheque or bank transfer (details available on request). Full details of our packages are here:

As we are a full website design / seo company we can offer you any service you need.

The only other cost you could incur is for copywriting (webcopy / text). If you decide you want to have this then you will need to give us some headings and guidance notes for this and we can go away and produce your website text and present it to you for proof reading before putting it on the site. This is an ultra important thing for your website and is crucial for your site’s high ranking in the Search Engine.

About 8 out of the last 10 websites we created have previously had all or nearly all of the text created and supplied by us

On the subject of additional costs I also remembered that if you want any stock photos these are available from multiple sources and are relatively inexpensive (about £2-£5 each for standard website sized photos) I really recommend professional quality photos to enhance the site.

The way the process goes normally is that we can chat on the phone or meet in person at our offices in Essex and then provide you with a questionnaire then once we agree on the package you want an need we secure your domain.

Once the deposit is paid we go away and produce a draft website for you to check and approve before we proceed and we give you visibility of the development process and as your opinion on any ‘choices’ we need to take during the website design. We can normally get someone on this project within 2 working weeks and expect completion, once all photos and text received and approved within 2 – 4 weeks.

Hope this sounds good and look forward to getting this started for you.

Your initial request
I want to replace my current website, with a more SEO friendly version, proper domain name etc, etc.

Can I please have a quote for approx a 5/6 page website and what would be included in the price. Would ideally want hosting too and ability do self edit once live.
